Give Your Time and Make a Difference
You can make a difference in the lives of terminally ill patients and their families. Visit patients, provide office support, aid with activities and events, play music for patients, help patients record their memories or bring in your pet for patients to enjoy.
Depending on your skills, interests and schedule, there are a multitude of volunteer opportunities available throughout Lancaster, Dauphin, Lebanon and Eastern York counties. Visit patients close to your home who may live in nursing or personal care homes or in private residences. Volunteer hours are flexible, and any amount of time you can give will truly improve a life.
Veteran Volunteers
To truly understand someone, you must walk a mile in their shoes. This is why we have begun pairing patients who are veterans with veteran volunteers. As a veteran volunteer, visit with and perform special ceremonies for veteran patients, which include a reading, a pinning and the presentation of a certificate and a handmade red, white and blue fleece blanket (made by other hospice volunteers). If you’re a veteran, or currently serving, you can improve the final days of another veteran’s life.
