Volunteer
Our wonderful team of dedicated volunteers are available to provide support and caregiver respite. They assist patients and their families by offering friendly visits and companionship and by completing special tasks through the direction of our volunteer coordinator. Volunteers share their musical talents, bring pets for therapy, take patients outside for some fresh air, read to patients, run errands and other efforts.
Give Your Time and Make a Difference
Depending on your skills, interests and schedule, there are a multitude of volunteer opportunities available throughout Lancaster, Dauphin, Lebanon and Eastern York counties. Visit patients close to your home who may live in nursing or personal care homes or in private residences. Volunteer hours are flexible, and any amount of time you can give will truly improve a life.
Veteran Volunteers
To truly understand someone, you must walk a mile in their shoes. This is why we have begun pairing patients who are veterans with veteran volunteers. As a veteran volunteer, visit with and perform special ceremonies for veteran patients, which include a reading, a pinning and the presentation of a certificate and a handmade red, white and blue fleece blanket (made by other hospice volunteers). If you’re a veteran, or currently serving, you can improve the final days of another veteran’s life.
